Zoe Ramushu

Zoe Ramushu is a filmmaker with a legal background. In New York, one of her documentaries was nominated for the 48th Student Academy Awards, the other was shortlisted for a Student BAFTA and funded by the Pulitzer Center. In South Africa she is producing a slate of nine feature films. The first trended on Netflix’s top 10. The second is currently in post production and the third was the recipient of the exclusive SA-Netherlands Thuthuka co-production fund. She is also producing a 25 documentary film slate, Generation Africa 2.0 focused on Climate Change for STEPS.

She studied Law, African Literature & Journalism and holds an MA and MSc from Wits University and Columbia University in the City of New York respectively. As a fellow of the Cannes Producers Network, DFM, The Gotham (formerly IFP), Creative Producer’s Indaba and Berlinale’s EFM Startups she has enjoyed success at various markets. A 2021 Reuters Institute Fellow at Oxford University she also chairs a committee for the Dept. of Arts & Culture in South Africa.
