TOPIC DESCRIPTION
Directions MasterClass: Fundamentals of directing: transforming a script into a visual story.
  • Content:
  • Understanding a director’s role.
  • Collaborating with key departments (Cinematography, Art Direction).
  • Practical tips for working with actors and creating strong visual storytelling.
  • Activity: Group discussion on different directing styles and breakout exercises in scene blocking.
The Art of Producing The producer’s role in bringing a film to life from pre-production to post.
  • Content:
  • Budgeting and scheduling.
  • Assembling a team and managing resources.
  • Case studies of successful low-budget films.
  • Activity: Participants break into groups to create a basic production plan for a short film idea.

Acting Workshop

Acting Workshop designed to unleash your creativity and refine your acting skills. Whether you’re a beginner stepping into the world of acting or a seasoned performer looking to sharpen your craft, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to grow as an artist. Our focus will be:
  • Character Development: Dive deep into understanding your character’s motivations, emotions, and backstory.
  • Improvisation Skills: Learn to think on your feet and react naturally to unscripted scenarios.
  • Voice and Movement: Master techniques to use your voice and body effectively on stage or screen.
  • Scene Study: Practice performing scenes with fellow participants, with guidance from our expert facilitators.
  • Audition Techniques: Gain tips and tricks to leave a lasting impression in auditions.
Final Mixing and Sound Design Understanding sound design and final mixing.
  • Content:
  • The process of mixing dialogue, sound effects, and music for a polished final product.
  • Tools used in sound design and mixing.
  • Importance of audio consistency across platforms (cinema, streaming, etc.).
  • Activity: Demonstration of mixing a short film scene, followed by a hands-on activity where participants adjust audio levels in groups.
AI and Animation: We will look at the opportunities in Animation which in South Africa are vast: We are going to look at the Cultural `storytelling, Education Content for children and adults making complex topics, Gaming and Interactive Media. Also we are going to look at the Global collaborations.
