Thembalethu Mfebe

Welkom-born producer, writer and director Thembalethu Mfebe completed his Honors degree at UCt in Film and Television Drama in 2014 before graduating from the MultiChoice Talent Factory in 2015. He co-founded his company, A Tribe Called Story, and feverishly started his journey to become a future industry Leader producing a TV series called “The Scam: Impilo” and 20 other made-for-TV films that he not only coproduced but directed too such as: Mabena Security 1 & 2, Umqhele and #Lit. He is also a winner of the AMP CAMP Multichoice Digital Innovation Challenge in 2018. Thembalethu is a part of the Mail & Guardian Top 200 young South Africans in 2019. His work, The Umbrella Men. was honoured at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. Thembalethu has now been a part of hit shows like: Miseducation, Outlaws, Adulting and Youngins, which have cemented him as the voice of the next generation of storytellers.
