Thandi Davids

Thandi Davids has spent over 20 years working in various sectors of the media industry. She began her career in public relations and was head-hunted to join the Independent Broadcasting Authority at its inception. She has worked in the music industry producing the Kora All Africa Music Awards for live TV broadcast, has worked in the print media industry and worked closely with the United Nations to deliver various major events including the WSSD, the IUCN Conservation conference and
COP17 in Kenya.

She has been an award-winning marketer and ran her own experiential marketing agency that included clients such as Disney, Virgin Mobile, Anglo American, FNB, Standard Bank. Department of Environmental Attairs & lounsm, Virgin and cell u amongst many.

She has also served as Africa Regional Director of Broadcasting and Marketing for Fox International Channels. Here she oversaw 11 TV channels (including National Geographic and Fox entertainment channels), launched 6 bespoke African channels (Fox, Nat Geo Gold, Fox Retro, FX, National Geographic Channel and Fox Crime) into the territory and also oversaw and produced the first commissioned African programming for the company. She was responsible for the creation and staffing of the African office for the global group.

She is presently is a founding partner in award winning production house Storyscope that creates original African content (both scripted and unscripted) for the global market working with the Netflix, BBC, CGTN, CBC, SABC, and Arte.
