She began her journey in freelance production, collaborating with leading production houses and brands. These hands-on experiences shaped her expertise in strategic planning, project execution, and content creation.

In 2011, Romy transitioned to the financial side of the industry, joining Hollard and working closely with The DTIC, IDC, NFVF, and other key institutions in South Africa’s film landscape. During this time, she gained in-depth knowledge of the complexities and risks associated with film, TV, and event production, understanding the crucial role of insurance in protecting creative ventures.

Committed to bridging the gap between the creative and financial sectors, Romy partnered with firstEquity, TRUM, and Everything.Insure in 2021 to simplify and enhance insurance solutions tailored for Africa’s Entertainment industry. Through innovation, technology, and collaboration, she is dedicated to streamlining processes, empowering creators, and ensuring Africa’s rich and diverse stories reach global audiences.
