Nandisa Mkhize
Nandisa nurtured her love for film and television at the University of Cape Town where she completed a Film and Television degree with honours with a specific focus on writing. Af-ter graduating cum laude, she joined the M-Net Magic in Motion programme where she worked as head writer, writer and director of the various local films created there. After successfully completing the programme, she went on to join the writing team on the hit, Emmy nominated show The River where she continued to hone her writing skills. In the years that followed, Nandisa worked as a storyliner on one of the biggest South African shows; The Queen, while simultaneously working on Showmax original films such as uMakoti Wethu and an array of other local films and series. The years of writing and creat-ing have only deepened Nandisa’s love for storytelling and the collaborative process in-volved in making phenomenal television. Nandisa is passionate about African stories, told authentically and told true. Most recently, Nandisa worked as a head writer on the fresh, fun, youthful Showmax series, Youngins. Nandisa looks to keep collaborating on stories which celebrate, not only on the South African experience, but the human experience as a whole.
