Yolanda Ncokotwana

Yolanda Ncokotwana is a broadcaster, story consultant, entrepreneur, executive producer, funding specialist, and policy maker. She is currently the Head of Industry Development at the NFVF, overseeing training and skills development, production & development, coproductions, and funding. Her experience spans across live productions, documentaries, and scripted content. She began her television career in broadcasting, starting from production and eventually becoming a Commissioning Editor.
As a story consultant, she has worked on over 30 titles, including multiple award-winning films, and has overseen the funding of documentary projects such as Buddha in Africa, The Sound of Mask, Skulls of my People, How to Steal a Country, Influence, Music is my life: Joseph Tshabalala and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, etc. Ncokotwana is responsible for managing co-development incentives and has spearheaded the Netherland/SA co-development fund, the NFVF/Netflix coproduction initiative, and the South African/Brazil co-development program. She has been a guest speaker at several international panels, including Cannes, Screen International, Berlin, etc. She has executive produced a number of fiction films. Yolanda is passionate about mentorship, leadership, and skills transfer. She provides story mentorship in the Wildlife and Environment filmmakers.
