As a Game Developer at South Game studio, my focus lies in blending creative storytelling with technical expertise, a fusion I mastered while obtaining a Project Management certificate at the University of the Witwatersrand and a diploma in Information Harnessing skills in communication, business management, and team motivation, my approach is to innovate and push boundaries in the gaming industry.
I am a co-owner of South Game Studio, a dynamic black youth-owned gaming start-up established in 2021. With a passion for gaming and technology, Avuzwa has dedicated her career to creating innovative gaming experiences that reflect diverse narratives and perspectives.
South Game Studio has quickly established itself as a prominent player in the gaming industry, focusing on developing video games and gaming intellectual property for a wide array of clients. The studio is committed to fostering creativity and collaboration among emerging talents in the gaming sector.
The studio has garnered recognition for its contributions to the industry, including securing a 3rd place prize at the Video Game Jam, during the Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival, hosted by Tshimologong in collaboration with Telkom. This accolade not only highlights the studio’s creative potential but also facilitated Avuzwa’s participation in an incubation programme at Tshimologong, where she honed her skills and contributed to the development of engaging gaming content.
Avuzwa is well-versed in various aspects of game design and development, and she actively seeks to integrate emerging technologies into her projects. Her experience encompasses areas such as game mechanics, storytelling, and user experience, ensuring that the Gaming Hub and South Game Studio produces high-quality, engaging games.
